Traditional Ayurvedic Therapies

Shirodhara (Third Eye Treatment)
$180
Shirodhara is one of Ayurveda’s most distinctive therapies, involving a continuous, gentle stream of warm herbal oil flowing rhythmically across the forehead. The oil, temperature, flow, and duration are carefully selected to create a deeply calming and immersive experience. Traditionally used to support relaxation, mental quietness, restful sleep, and a greater sense of balance, Shirodhara is often described as profoundly meditative. When performed by a trained Ayurvedic practitioner, the treatment can be adapted to the individual’s constitution, comfort, and wellness goals.

Forehead Buttermilk Stream Therapy (Takradhara)
$150
A traditional Ayurvedic therapy in which a gentle, continuous stream of specially prepared buttermilk is poured over the forehead. This soothing treatment is traditionally used to promote relaxation, cooling, mental calm, and a sense of balance. Suitability and preparation are determined according to the client’s individual needs.

Fully Body Massage (Abhyanga)
$120
Abhyangam is a classical Ayurvedic full-body massage using warm, herbal-infused oils selected according to the individual’s constitution, comfort, and wellness goals. At Mohan Ayurvedic Wellness, the treatment is performed using a traditional Ashtavaidya-inspired massage approach, with rhythmic, flowing techniques rooted in classical Ayurvedic practice. It is traditionally used to support relaxation, ease muscular tension and stiffness, encourage circulation, and promote a sense of flexibility, grounding, and overall well-being. More than a massage, Abhyangam is a deeply restorative Ayurvedic ritual that combines warmth, touch, and carefully chosen herbal oils to nurture both body and mind.

Dry Herb Heat Therapy (Potli Sweda)
$135
Potli Sweda uses warm herbal poultices rhythmically applied to the body using traditional Ayurvedic techniques. Depending on individual needs, the practitioner may use Ruksha Pinda Sweda, Patra Pinda Sweda, or Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda, each prepared with different herbs, leaves, grains, or nourishing liquids. The method is traditionally used to encourage relaxation, ease stiffness, and support comfortable movement.

Lower Back Therapy (Kati Vasti)
$140
Kati Vasti is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy focused on the lower back, where warm medicated herbal oil is gently retained within a traditionally prepared dough reservoir placed over the lumbar region. The oil, temperature, and duration are carefully selected according to the individual’s constitution, comfort, and wellness needs. Traditionally used to support relaxation, ease feelings of stiffness and muscular tension, and promote comfort and mobility in the lower back, Kati Vasti is best performed under the guidance of a trained Ayurvedic practitioner for proper assessment, oil selection, and temperature control.

Warm Herbal Oil Pad Therapy (Pichu)
$120
Pichu is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy in which a layered cotton or muslin compress is placed over a specific region and repeatedly nourished with warm medicated herbal oils. The choice of oil, herbs, temperature, duration, and method of application are traditionally adjusted according to the individual’s constitution and concerns

Herbal Paste Application (Lepana)
$110
A traditional Ayurvedic external therapy in which a freshly prepared herbal paste is applied to a specific area of the body. The formulation is selected according to the individual’s needs and is intended to provide localized soothing care, support comfort, and promote relaxation of the affected area.

Herbal Steam (Swedana)
$60
Swedana is a traditional Ayurvedic steam therapy designed to gently warm the body and encourage natural perspiration. During the treatment, the body is exposed to soothing herbal steam while the head remains comfortably outside the steam chamber. The warmth helps relax tense muscles, ease stiffness, support circulation, and promote a feeling of lightness and deep relaxation. Swedana is often performed after Abhyanga (Ayurvedic oil massage) to complement the effects of the warm herbal oils. The therapy is individually adapted according to the client’s constitution, comfort, and overall wellness needs.

Ayurvedic Eye Therapy (Akshi Tarpana)
$200
A traditional Ayurvedic eye-care procedure in which a specially selected warm herbal liquid or medicated fat preparation is gently retained around the eyes within a prepared boundary for a prescribed period. The therapy is intended to provide soothing nourishment, relaxation, and supportive care for tired or strained eyes.
